First day of 30 in 30

"At the Edges", Encaustic on canvas panel, 8 x 8 inches

This is painted with a new brand of paint called Ceracolors, that are water-soluble beeswax-based paint.
I refer to them as encaustic, because they are wax and pigment, but differ in that, they do not need to be melted to paint with.  
Hope you enjoy this little view of my garden.  These flowers will be my focus for the first week of Thirty Paintings in Thirty Days.

    Hi Mary--thanks so much for visiting my blog. I'm SO glad you are doing the 30 in 30 again--I always love seeing your work, and I learn so much from your experimenting ways. I love your sunflowers and learning about the Ceracolors. Hmmmmm....may need to try those. Do they need solvents? Curious....

    Your painting is wonderful, reminds me of an impressionist master painting.

      Thanks Meredith. The ceracolors work with water, only thing you need. Can paint them thick and carve into them, thin them down to work like watercolors.
